NAMI402

Chapter 2

The 402 Desk

HTTP has had a status code for 'payment required' since 1997. Nobody used it. Nami does. Ask a question, get a ticket, pay the Desk contract, get your answer.

One request, one receipt

The ticket is the trick.

When Nami answers 402, she signs a ticket for this endpoint, these exact parameters, valid for 30 minutes. Its hash is the request id you pay for. So a receipt can never be reused for a different question, and nobody can pay for you and steal your answer.

No accounts. No API keys. Just receipts.

Payments go straight to the treasury in the same transaction. The Desk never holds funds.
